Are you stressed the f*** out? I mean, I get it. We are up against so much. Here is a non-exhaustive list of the stuff that can keep you up at night: health, money, work, family, relationships, school, housing, climate change, child/elder care, social and political climate, rights being stripped away, etc. etc. etc. And, while there seems to be a ton of time to stress, there doesn’t seem to be nearly as much time available for managing it. The good news is it doesn’t have to take forever. You already have everything you need to create a more adaptive stress response system. The resources lie in your body– specifically, in your nervous system. But how on earth to tap them? It all begins with figuring out how to tune into the unique language of your brain and body. Consider this your trusty guide.
Is this a workbook? Sort of. Here’s some of what you’ll find inside.
Self-Regulation 101: an overview of the nervous system, brain, and stress response system.
Sensations: support recognizing the nervous system’s language and understanding what regulating it might feel like.
Thoughts & Feelings: resources distinguishing thoughts from feelings and why they both matter.
The Micropractices: 28 mind-body practices, 1-3 minutes long and rooted in neurobiology, to soothe the stress response. Each micropractice includes a body map (to record body sensations experienced during the practice) plus prompts to reflect on how the practice impacted you.
Make a Plan: worksheets to help you think about integrating the micropractices into your daily life.
Other stuff too! I truly packed in as much as I could. That’s how strongly I want you to feel better.
The digital download means you’ll receive the workbook as a PDF in your email. Do with it what you will, print it all out and put it in a cute binder (for my type A friends), fill it in via Adobe, or make copies of the pages that mean a lot to you. No limit on downloads or printing.
Spiral bound copy is coming soon!
Change your brain, change your stress response system. It’s that simple.
