About Me

It is so nice to meet you.

I’m Dr. Jenny King, a trauma and neurobiologically-informed social worker, therapist, consultant, writer, and many other things.

I bring my knowledge of the brain, neurodevelopment, and the stress response— and, let’s be honest, big doses of humor and authenticity– to all of my work. In addition to working with individuals, groups, and organizations, I also offer specialized programming for helping professionals, clinical staff and organizations, and parents/caregivers. Because someone needs to support you, while you support them.

PROFESSIONAL STUFF

I hold a Doctorate of Clinical Social Work (DSW) degree from the University of Pennsylvania. I received my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from The Ohio State University, and my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Journalism from Ohio Wesleyan University.

I am trained in lots of treatment modalities and practice approaches. To name a few:
Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Phase I Certified
Movement for Trauma with Jane Clapp
Traumatic Stress and the Breath
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy
Organizational Trauma and Trauma-Informed Systems
DBT “In a Box”
If you’re into the academic side of my work, hop on over to my CV.

PErSONAL STUFF

I’ve got 3 incredible kids and one badass and brilliant husband. We are an unschooling family, which is a radical approach to self-directed education that prioritizes intergenerational brain-building joy, play, and connection. I like to read, laugh, move my body, be near water, explore astrology and energy work, and learn learn learn.
